Tutoring Guidelines

 
 
 
 

Thank you for considering Me For My Tutoring Services. Before your First session, you will need to review the tutoring guidelines. These guidelines have been put in place to ensure that you have a quality session where maximal learning can take place.

  1. Each session will begin promptly at the agreed upon time with a grace period of 15 minutes.

    • If the student has not appeared in the session after 15 minutes, the tutoring session will be cancelled, a cancellation fee in the amount of the hourly rate will be accessed and the student will need to reschedule.

    • If the student is more than 15 minutes late, but has communicated that they will be appears in the session before 30 minutes late, a $25 late fee will be assessed.

    • If student is on a package plan, the amount late will be deducted from the amount of hours remaining in the session in addition to the time of the session.

  2. Each student will need to come prepared to learn in each session. 

  3. All official communication will be via email. The tutor's contact hours will be Sunday - Thursday from 10 am - Midnight. Any communication that occurs outside of these hours will be responded to during the next contact hour on the next business day. 

  4.   I understand that life happens, but if there is a cancellation less than 24 hours in advance, there will be a cancellation fee assessed in the amount of the hourly rate (There are exceptions to this rule. If something comes up that happens to be on the same day (i.e. a dire emergency) , please reach out as soon as you can).

    • If student is on a package plan, the time of the scheduled session will be deducted from the amount of hours remaining in the session.

  5.   No call/no shows will result in a fee of the hourly rate. If there are more than 2 no calls/no shows within a semester, you will be taken off of the schedule until further communication occurs.  

  6. Excessive calling will not be accepted. Excessive contact refers to 3+ calls, texts, or emails under an hour. If you need to get in contact with me and I am not available, please leave a message and I will return your contact when available. Excessive calling in under an hour will result in a fee of $25.

  7. Beginning January 2025, phone calls will be billed in 0.167-hour (10 minute) increments at the hourly rate.

    • If you are on a package deal, the time spent on phone calls will be deducted from your available hours.

    • If you are not on a package plan, but have an upcoming session, the next invoice after the next session will include the phone calls.

    • If you are not on a package plan and do not have an upcoming session, you will receive an invoice for the phone call.

  8. All sessions will  be conducted virtually via Zoom. At the end of each session, a calendar invitation of the upcoming session time will be created and sent to the student's email. The invitation will update to the student's time zone and send reminder emails closer to the scheduled session time. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that their google invitation is saved to their calendar. 

  9. If I cancel a session in an unreasonable amount of time (i.e. under 24 hours), the next session is free. 

  10. You will receive an invoice at the end of every session that will reflect the time from the session that will include all of the topics covered. If you are paying by session, the invoice sent at the end of each session will need to be paid within 3 business days and before the next session. If you are paying by month, your monthly payment is due no later than the 3rd of each month. If payment has not been received by the specified time, all services and communication with the student will cease until payment has been received.

  11. Last minute scheduling (Same day or under 24 hours) will be scheduled based on availability for a $15 fee unless you are on an unlimited package deal.
